YOUR HOSTESS & EMCEE
Barbara Burning Bush, or B3 for short, always knew she would be a star, even as urchin #3 in her high school production of Les Misérables. She has always loved the spotlight, even when she was born and saw the doctor’s light. Barbara comes from a long line of spotlight seeking family members including her half-cousin, Shelita Hamm. The day she received the call to continue the family tradition, she knew this was her chance to finally be the B-list celebrity she had always aspired to become. During her down time Barbara loves to gossip with her paper machete group, appear in the background on TV, attend beer festivals, and of course stalk her exes on MySpace.
Barbara is ready to give you an experience of a lifetime and show you how playing the most unconventional game of bingo will change your life for ever.
WHAT TO EXPECT
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Super Bingo! Gay Bingo Charlotte is one of the most unconventional fundraising events in Charlotte – this ain’t your grandma’s bingo! Join us for a wild, fun, outrageous and unpredictable evening of song, wacky costumes, dance and a little bingo! Each event has its own theme and set of special rules – this is not a game of chance and no money or prizes can be won from getting an official bingo.
Since the first event - “Big Hair Bingo” in February 2000 - Bingo attendance has grown from 100 people at the Great Aunt Stella Center to sellout crowds of 1,500+ people at the Grady Cole Center (and in 2019 has moved to the Charlotte Convention Center). Gay Bingo Charlotte has raised over $1 million since 2000 and every dollar has gone to support the programs and services RAIN provides to the Charlotte metro area.
